Rev. Randy Sherrill - Teaching Pastor
Narrative story telling is important for me and is the primary tool of communication in our sacred scripture. In the months and years ahead, I will recount the foundational stories of my life, and I want to listen to you.
I am an original Sherrill from just across the lake in Sherrills Ford. I am a proud Davidson Wildcat (Class of 1978). I spent five years in Atlanta and accomplished two significant things there: God led me to my wife, the Reverend Kathie Clontz Sherrill, and I completed my M.Div. at Candler School of Theology, Emory University, where I also did some post-graduate work. Kathie and I were married in 1979 and ordained in 1980.
Central Church is my seventh appointment. My interests and hobbies are many: woodturning, reading, fishing, outdoor activities, building relationships with all kinds of people, singing and listening to music, and rejoicing in life. I believe God has called us to a powerful and unfolding ministry in Mooresville. I am so excited God has placed me here and I can't wait to get to know you.
Debbie Smith - Director of Christian Ministries
I am a graduate of Pfeiffer University with a B.A. in Religion and Christian Education. I live in Salisbury, NC on High Rock Lake. I have six grandchildren who keep me busy.
Christian Education has been the focus of my ministry for over 25 years. I love to see persons use their gifts and talents to serve the Lord especially through Bible Study and Service to others. My door is always open to help you get plugged into a ministry where you can get excited about serving the living Lord. No matter your age…give me a call and I will help you get plugged into a ministry that meets your needs.
Edward Ramsey - Director of Youth Ministries
I am a graduate from Pfeiffer University with a B.A. in Youth Ministry. My devotion and love for Christ’s ministry has continued through my education and work experience. I have lived in Troutman, NC my whole life until I moved away for school. My family still lives in Troutman.
I have the passion for meeting the needs of others, meeting new people, and being a part of Christ’s body. Through worship, discipleship, service to the community, and fellowship, I have seen the power of Christ work through youth, teens, and adults. To God be the glory!
If you have any questions or concerns, my door is always open. So come by and say Hi!

I was a member of Central United Methodist Church in my early years. My husband and I moved to Florida after getting married and were residents of Florida for 25 years, before moving back to Mooresville.

Currently, I am working on my Masters of Divinity degree. I am in my second year of studies at Candler School of Theology, Emory University in Atlanta, GA.
